13.8 (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we may share it, and what choices you have regarding your personal data when you use the 13.8 mobile application (the “App”).
By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to the collection, use and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect very limited information — and most of it stays only on your device.
A. Information you provide directly
- Birthday When you set your birthday (required for the “YOU” age display), we store the selected date as a Unix timestamp (milliseconds since 1970-01-01 UTC) locally on your device using Android’s SharedPreferences.
B. Automatically collected device information
We collect the following information automatically when you use the App:
- Device timezone (used to display time in your local timezone on the “YOU” and “HUMAN CIVILIZATION” pages)
- Device language and locale settings (used only for number formatting and date display)
- Android version and device model (used only for crash reporting if you enable it)
C. We do NOT collect
- Your name, email address, phone number
- Your exact location (GPS coordinates)
- Your IP address
- Advertising ID / IDFA
- Any photos, contacts, microphone, camera, or other personal files
- Any payment information (the app is free and has no in-app purchases in current version)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information only for the following purposes:
- To calculate and display your personal age (“YOU” page) based on the birthday you provided
- To display the current local date and time correctly on pages that use local time
- To format numbers and dates according to your device’s language and region settings
- To improve stability (crash logs — only if you explicitly enable reporting)
All calculations and displays happen locally on your device. We do not send your birthday or timezone to any server.
3. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
We may disclose information only in these very limited cases:
- To comply with valid legal requests (court order, subpoena, etc.)
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of 13.8, its users, or the public
No third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting tools, or cloud services are currently integrated that would receive your data.
4. Data Storage & Security
- All data (birthday timestamp, timezone preference) is stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences.
- No data is transmitted to any remote server operated by us.
- We do not have access to your data after you install the app.
5. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your Rights & Choices
Because we store almost no personal data on servers:
- You can delete your birthday at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
- You can change your device timezone in Android settings — the app will automatically reflect it.
- There is no account, so there is no “delete my account” process.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the app and/or on any official website we may operate in the future. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
